Mel chose to have a photographic experience to celebrate their beloved dog Clint—a nine-year-old wire-haired Vizsla who has been with her and her husband Mark since he was a puppy. With the recent arrival of their baby, Alexander, she felt the need to honour Clint’s role in their family and capture this special chapter before time moves on too quickly.

The photo experience helped her reflect on the incredible impact Clint has had on their lives, especially as they adjust to life with a new baby. It was also a way to mark the deep, enduring bond she shares with him, knowing dogs don’t live as long as humans.

Clint has been Mel’s loyal best friend, emotional anchor, and constant companion through the years. As her “firstborn,” he’s been there through life’s milestones—most recently embracing baby Alexander with a gentle, protective affection. His joyful, excitable nature lifts her spirits, especially on difficult days.

Mel says just seeing him happy and in the moment helps her forget the stresses of daily life and appreciate what really matters. Clint's unconditional love and energy are grounding forces for the whole family.
