Below are some of the questions we are most commonly asked at Unique + United.

 
  • We understand everyone has different needs, so we offer a range of products to suit different styles and budgets. There is an option for everyone and no minimum spend. We’re here for you to help you decide on the right pieces that will suit your home, style and budget. 

    Artwork Prices start from £600 and most of our families choose to invest between £1,000 and £6,000 on their bespoke Artwork. 

    We understand that until you’ve actually seen your photographs it’s not truly possible to know just how much you are going to love them. However during your consultation calls we will discuss options for which artworks we think might suit your home and budget best.

  • Yes most of our families pay in full for their Artworks at their Design Consultation.

    (If for any reason you are unable to make a decision and require an additional Design Consultation this can be arranged at a charge of £75 per additional consultation.)

  • In order for us to create an experience and bespoke artwork that is genuinely meaningful to you it’s essential for us to understand what it is that you love most about the individuals involved in your photographic experience, and value about the relationships you share.

    Without this information we can’t represent ‘what’s truly important to you’ in the photographs and create artworks that you will want to display proudly in your home.

    We think you are worth more than ‘just a nice family picture’ which is why we go to these lengths to create something truly special for you.

    Just like you wouldn’t commission someone to build you a house, give you a haircut, look after your children etc without a proper consultation we cannot create an experience and artwork that is genuinely meaningful to you without these conversations.

  • We offer interest free payment plans for upto 3 years through Klarna

  • Any photographs you purchase from Unique + United as Artwork will be archived and kept forever.

    The photographs that you do not value enough to purchase, will be held for 90 days and then deleted to save space on the server.

  • We have such a huge range of options that we don’t have an item specific price list that we send out.

    During your consultation calls we will discuss options for which artworks we think might suit your home and budget best. 

    We believe part of our job is to help match you with the artworks that will perfectly compliment your home, taste and budget and our experience has taught us that this is best done through a process of consultation and collaboration with you and your family.

  • We are a small business and only have a very limited number of appointments a week. Therefore when booking the Photographic Experience, a refundable booking deposit of £50 will be required. This is to protect us against late cancellations and no shows.

    This will be added to your order, or fully refunded at your Design Consultation.

    If for any reason you fail to attend any of your appointments or fail to notify us within 14 days of your appointment, any deposit paid will be rendered non-refundable.

    The reason this is 14 days is that it gives us the chance to rebook the appointment and carry out all the necessary consultation calls.

  • We pride ourselves on creating beautiful finished products for our families.

    While the digital print files are not made available for purchase, we do sell the Social Media files, of the photographs you purchase as artworks, so that you can share them online and with family and friends.

    These are delivered as your own unique App that sits on your Smart Phone or Tablet.

  • We’re based in the North Devon Business Park at Chivenor Cross, just outside Braunton and 10 mins from Barnstaple in North Devon. Find Us

  • Yes we have plenty of parking space right in front of the studio

  • Yes, there is parking right in front of the main studio door and we are all on one level with no steps and double doors to the studio.

    Our Disabled Access toilet is also on ground level.

  • Absolutely, we know secretly you love them more than the kids!

  • The Design Consultation will usually take 45mins to an hour, depending on how easy you find it to make decisions.

    We schedule them with additional time available as it’s important for us to get this right for you and not to rush

  • Absolutely we have a number of great options that are kid friendly, dog friendly or something more sophisticated should you wish. A few of our favourites are The Quay Cafe, The Williams Arms, Heanton Court, Hang Loose Bar & Grill, The Beachside Grill, The Blue Groove, The New Coast Canteen, The New Coast Kitchen

  • We photograph exclusively in Black and White in order to create timeless, emotionally rich, artworks that will never look dated and work with any decor.

  • Choosing outfits that are in the same colour palette, and don’t feature large logos or strong patterns, will ensure timeless memories and photographs where focus remains on the emotion.

    Shoulders and arms that are covered are more flattering to most people.

  • All photographs that are purchased as Artworks will receive a minor amount of adjustment to ensure that everyone is looking their best.

    More extensive retouching can be applied to flatter you upon request.

  • If at all possible we recommend coming into the studio to meet us all and having a tour before your shoot.

    We totally understand that it can be a scary prospect, particularly for some young people, and so meeting us and seeing where they are going to be photographed can just help reassure them that there’s nothing to be scared of and that all we want is for them to have an awesome experience with us and be represented in the photographs the way in which they would like to be seen.

    Our experience is that in spite of any trepidation to begin with, the resounding feedback from the children/teenagers is that they look back very fondly on their experience with us and love the photographs we create with them.

  • Yes we have a changing room and baby changing facilities on site.

    We also like to keep a supply of essentials in studio just in case you’ve left something important behind.

  • Absolutely, we are open Tuesday to Saturday 9-5pm and always welcome families who want to pop in and take a look around.

    So we’re able to give you our full attention please do call ahead to check that we’re not with another family.

  • The team at unique and United have years of experience dealing with an array of canine personalities from nervous dogs, to lazy dogs to super energetic dogs!

    We understand just how important to you it is that they are happy and have very much built our studio with Dogs in mind.

    On the day you will have the studio completely to yourselves and they will be able to roam free and explore without the need for a lead.

    We will also be sure to discuss with you in advance the best way for us to help them feel welcome, safe and secure.
