Catherine and Thomas chose to have a photographic experience to capture their children—Zeke (11) and Aria (9)—at a fleeting moment in their lives, just before the teenage years begin to reshape their personalities. Life moves quickly, and they want to preserve the innocence, character, and connection their family shares right now. Their experience gave them a meaningful way to hold on to this chapter, a visual reminder of who their children are today and the joy they bring.

Thomas, in his own words ‘usually not sentimental’, initiated their experience, motivated by the happiness he feels when he sees his children happy. Catherine, a bit more reserved, deeply resonated with the idea of celebrating Zeke’s quiet pride in his athletic achievements - especially as he navigates feelings of self-doubt. She also wanted to honour Aria’s empathy and warmth, aware that these traits might shift as adolescence approaches. Though initially unsure about being photographed herself, Catherine opened up to it for the sake of her children—realising how meaningful it could be for them to see the whole family together in their home.
